Brazil rebound to overcome fighting Dominicans

Nakhon Ratchasima, Thailand, July 26, 2013 – Brazil overcame sluggish start to beat the spirited Dominican Republic team 3-1 (15-25, 33-31, 25-8, 32-) in their opening Pool C match of the FIVB Girls' Youth World Championship here at Chatchai Hall in Nakhon Ratchasima, Thailand on Friday.

Laiza Ferreira leads Brazil scorers with impressive 17 points followed by opposite Lorenne Geraldo (16 pts). Dominican's spiker Natalia Martinez led her team and also the whole match scorers by 22 points.

After losing the first set widely Brazil regained their performance and succeeded to block well and rebounded back to win three successive sets.

The competition's Youngest player Natalia Martinez conducted her team with her spikes aided by Elizabeth Martinez to win the first set before Brazil arranged their defence to win the second set after a great fight 33-31.

Brazil players became more motivated to win the third set widely 25-8 before they suffered again the Dominican solid performance to win the match 3-1
