Bangkok, Thailand, August 18, 2013 – Russia’s head coach Iuriy Marichev praised Thailand for their improved form against his team. Following are quotes of head coaches and team captains of Russia and Thailand.

Iuriy Marichev, head coach of Russia: “I'm glad that my team won this tough match. Thailand played very well before their large crowds. They came much stronger this time. It was an epic match and we fought hard until the end. Thailand did a good job on serves while we suffered on the ball pass. Fortunately, we managed to win at last.”

Ekaterina Pankova, team captain of Russia: “Thailand played well against us. Though a loud cheering from their fans, we did not have any pressure. It was a see-saw match. We fought our best until the end of the game. Thailand had really great form today and their supporters  kept motivating them to play hard against us. That made the game more entertaining for fans.”

Kiattipong Radchatagriengkai, head coach of Thailand: "Thanks to all Thai fans, their supports are incredible. We performed our best. I congratulate Russia on their victory over us. Although we lost three sets, I'm proud of the two-set win we won. Our new players showed their great form. It's good that their skills were drastically improved after they competed in this tournament.”

Wilavan Apinyapong, team captain of Thailand: “We tried to play our best. We are not disappointed that we lost this match. We have already proved our best form. Many players in our team have injury problems, while Russia played a tough match against us. As we are much shorter than the Russians, we had to try really hard to win each point. This tournament is an amazing experience for us."
