Iuriy Marichev, head coach of Russia: “In the first two sets, we had problems on reception and serves. In some moments, we also played with unforced attacking mistakes. Due to our poor serves, our game did not go our way. In the third and fourth set, we improved on our reception and service. That’s a vital key to our success.”

Giovanni Guidetti, head coach of Germany:“Russia blocked very well. They made big difference of 17 blocks against four. We use well our attacks to Russia, but we could not be able to keep level with the Russian attacks in the last three sets. Next we take on Thailand. They are very strong team. Their fans are amazing and we are happy to play here.
Margareta Kozuch, team captain of Germany: “We started quite well. Everything ran out well in our tactics performance. Unfortunately we could not close the last three sets. That’s what counts for our loss.”
